History

Established in 1882 by Baron Edmond de Rothschild, Carmel Winery stands as Israel's oldest and most historic winery. It played a pivotal role in introducing modern viticulture to the region, laying the foundation for Israel's contemporary wine industry. Over the decades, Carmel has evolved, embracing innovation while honoring its rich heritage, and has been instrumental in shaping the country's wine culture.

Location

Carmel Winery operates from two primary facilities: the original historic winery in Zikhron Ya'akov and a modern facility in Rishon LeZion. These locations are strategically situated to access diverse vineyards across Israel, allowing the winery to produce a wide range of wines that reflect the country's varied terroirs.

Vineyards and Wines

Sourcing grapes from vineyards spanning the Upper Galilee, the Judean Hills, and the Negev, Carmel Winery benefits from Israel's diverse climates and soils. This diversity enables the production of a broad portfolio, including varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay, as well as unique blends. Carmel's commitment to quality and innovation has garnered international recognition, solidifying its reputation as a leader in Israeli winemaking.
